Before you upload
Keep the original ZIP exactly as you received it. Do not extract, rename, or edit files inside it. Store a second copy somewhere safe, because an import is not a replacement for your own source backup.
If you do not have an archive yet, the official TV Time export page was reachable when checked on 22 July 2026. Its availability does not mean TV Time will necessarily prepare a new download after the service ended.
Import step by step
- Create or sign in to your Kino account.
- Open the import flow and select the unchanged ZIP.
- Wait while Kino uploads the file, detects the supported source, and processes that specific import job.
- Read the completion report by category.
- Check your library and keep the source ZIP until you are satisfied with the result.
Kino supports the official TV Time archive and a TV Time Out archive. Detection is automatic; there is no source selector to guess. Upload one ZIP at a time so each result remains easy to review.
Understand the report
The summary can show matched shows, episode watches, movies, ratings, favorites, watchlist items, comments, reactions, and other categories when present. It also identifies unmatched titles and counts supported records preserved outside the active library when they could not be linked to the current catalog.
The exact result depends on the source. Review what Kino imports from each format before interpreting a zero count as an error.
Using both supported formats
The official export usually contains categories that TV Time Out does not, while TV Time Out can provide useful identifiers and snapshot state. If you possess both archives, you can import them separately. Kino applies deterministic merge rules so a later supported import does not deliberately erase richer non-null data from the other format.
Frequently asked questions
Can I upload an extracted folder?
No. The import control accepts a ZIP archive. Use the original file.
What if some titles are missing?
Catalog coverage and identifier differences can prevent a direct match. Read the unmatched section in the report and retain your original archive.
Where do I start?
After checking the supported categories, sign in through the page CTA and upload the original ZIP.
