Two supported source formats
Kino automatically recognizes a supported official TV Time ZIP or a supported TV Time Out ZIP. They do not contain the same information, so the source shown in the import report matters.

How imported data reaches the library
Kino first parses the source archive, then tries to link shows and movies to its current catalog. Shows use source identifiers where available. Movies may use an IMDb identifier or title-based matching, depending on the source. A successful catalog match lets Kino place the item and its supported activity in the working library.
Ratings, favorites, and status follow additive merge rules. A later supported import does not intentionally replace an existing non-null rating with an absent one. Manual watch activity created in Kino is not removed by the import process.
What the report tells you
After processing, the report can list matched shows, episode and movie watches, ratings, favorites, watchlist items, comments, and reactions. It also identifies unmatched titles and counts supported records kept in the import archive when no catalog link was possible.

Known limits
- Catalog coverage: a source title without a usable current catalog match cannot appear as a normal library item.
- Episode numbering: TVDB and TMDB season or episode numbering can differ for some series.
- TV Time Out rewatches: the source can provide an aggregate count without individual rewatch timestamps, so Kino does not invent dated events.
- Missing categories: data absent from the chosen source cannot be reconstructed. The official archive is needed for categories that TV Time Out does not contain.
- Movie precision: title-based matching can be less precise than a stable IMDb identifier.
Frequently asked questions
Should I import both archives if I have them?
It can improve coverage because the formats are complementary. Upload them separately and review each report.
Are unmatched records deleted?
Supported unresolved records can be preserved outside the active library and reflected in the report. Keep the original ZIP as the definitive source backup.
